Create Your Life Theme Written by Lisa Martin
Continued from page 1 your theme, write it down and put it where you will see it every day. Examples of some of my client's themes are "Let go. Rebuild. Move Forward" "Growth and Independence" "Balance and Follow-through" "Stretch" "Reaching my Best Level." The idea is to create a theme that empowers you to live your best life.My life theme for 2002 was "completion." I loved this word; it sang to me and I knew exactly what it meant. I used my theme of completion as a filter for all decisions I made about spending my time and energy. I only said "yes" to those things that fit within my overall intention of completion. What I noticed is that my theme gave me great direction and things fell into place as a result. This year my theme is "collaboration." What is your theme? Playing With Your CoachWhat is your intention for next year? Here are some simple steps you can take to create your life theme.1)Review your values and vision.2)Take note of your top three goals.3)Reflect on what brings you joy.4)Draft your life theme based on information you gathered in first three steps.Play with words. Keep your life theme simple. Keep it to a maximum of six words. The simpler language, easier it is to remember and act on.

Continued from page 1 Purpose provides motivation for difficult tasks. For instance if your purpose is to encourage others to be healthy and free and you want to be an example of health and freedom by running a marathon then it'll be much easier to put in miles given you are doing it with a purpose in mind and not for self-serving reason of making yourself look good. A well defined purpose will create positive waves that will enhance your relationships and community around you. When you live your life based on a well defined purpose you can't help but look at your relationships in a more positive, passionate light which will then ripple outward in a wave of community enhancement, one relationship at a time. In summary, successfully lived life, a life of freedom and passion, is a life energized by purpose. In discovering and developing your purpose you enhance your life on several fronts. In enhancing your life with a well defined purpose you are then able to easily set for yourself a powerful life's vision, a motivating mission, and goals that magnetically pull you forward into a success filled life.
