Chakras 101Written by Sam Stevens
Continued from page 1 The Blue Chakra, sometimes called Fifth, Thyroid or Throat chakra relates to immune system, regulation of hormones. It represents our ability to communicate effectively with others as well as creative and personal expression. The Indigo Chakra, sometimes known as Sixth chakra or Third Eye, is located just slightly above and between eyebrows on forehead. It is related to pituitary gland and mental and spiritual processes, as well as intuition, second sight. The Violet Chakra, also sometimes known as Crown chakra, Seventh chakra, White chakra or lotus chakra is located at top of head. It is thought to be gateway or connection to spirit world, ascended masters and higher self. It is receptor of divine wisdom and divine inspiration. When functioning well, chakras are thought to be a conduit for constant flow of energy through out our bodies. If these chakras are blocked, slowed in their spinning, darkened or not working, then you can correct this imbalance by imagining them being cleared from negative energies such as resentment, fear or trauma. Tuning up your chakras can make an enormous difference to your sense of well-being in general as they conduct natural flow of energy through our bodies. Chakras that are blocked are thought to cause physical disease and emotional and spiritual dis-ease. Common blockages are negative emotions, desire to hurt, being emotionally hurt, and holding on to of fears and resentment and sometimes past life issues. The chakras interact with each other in a constant dancing of spheres that extends outside our bodies. They exist in a constant state of renewal that can be enhanced by meditation, creative visualization, light working and breath work.

| | Basic Palmistry IWritten by Sam Stevens
Continued from page 1 Below Mount of Jupiter (follow index finger downwards) lies Lower Mars, which deals with aggression, hostility and capacity for evil. The center of palm is called Plane of Mars. If plane has a dip in it you are calm, cool and collected. If it is raised or flat you are more likely to display a bad temper. The Heart Line cuts laterally across upper palm between mounts of Jupiter and Mercury. Loops, bubbles, cuts and breaks in this line indicate relationships and episodes occurring in a person's love life. The Head Line is normally positioned and can cut across palm or curve downward. It is an indicator of intelligence and mental health. An optimum Head line runs straight, is deep and has a long extension almost to other side of palm. This more headline curves downward towards list, less control individual may have over his or her emotions. The Life Line usually circles thumb and begins under mount of Jupiter and extends to wrist. It encircles Mount of Lower Mars and Venus and in most cases ends at base of hand. This line indicates major life events as well as health of subject. The longer this line is, longer individual will live. The fourth main lie on palm is called Line of Fate (also known as Line of Faith. This line runs vertically from middle of base of palm and up towards middle finger. It is an indicator of material and financial strength. The deeper, stronger and less broken line, more likely person is likely to be successful. It also indicates a serious, business like nature. The line of Apollo is a vertical line that is found on upper part of Mount of Moon. It has been called line of Sun, and line of Brilliancy, and to it has been ascribed gift of great artistic talents, wealth and fame. Not every hand possesses this line. The line of Mercury has been variously called line of Health or line of Liver. It is found either on Mount of Mercury or Plain of Mars. If there is no line you are probably blessed with excellent health. Strong markings in this area indicate troubles with health. There are many Minor Lines that don't appear in every hand but one of best known is Girdle of Venus that starts between Mounts of Jupiter and Saturn and ends around little finger. This line looks like a loop circling three of your four fingers and its presence is supposed to indicate beauty and luck in romance. The hand is filled with all kinds of markings, lines, feathers, stars, and crosses --each with particular meanings. As a rule of thumb (no pun intended) any time you find a marking on a mound, it usually indicates that something special is going on in that department of your life. Next month’s New Age Notebook will go into more detail about meanings of these symbols in hand.
