Camping Makes the Weekend PerfectWritten by Chuck Fitzgerald

Here are some things I take along when I car camp: hiking gear, bird watching binoculars and field guide, a radio for music and weather updates, tent, cot, sleeping bag, grill, shovel, fire starting gear, lots of food and drink, first aid kit, a stack of reading material – this can also be used for building a fire – such as newspapers and magazines, rain gear, hammock, dogs and dog food, folding chairs and table, stove, table service and utensils….you get idea. I take all that I need to be comfortable. If you don’t have these things, don’t fret, all you really need are food, shelter and common sense. Camping is a great way to renew and strengthen relationships. Take your spouse, your children, your siblings, your friends. Without distractions of television, telephone, internet and alarm clocks, you will have a wonderful time. I’ll always remember something a dear friend of mine told me years ago, “Time spent in our great outdoors is time added to your life.” That sounds like a good reason to go. Use this information and you’ll Get It Right The First Time. Get Outdoors!

| | Who Invented The Game Of Golf ?Written by David Humphrey
Continued from page 1
Great Britain The earliest traces of golf history has golf being played are said to date back to 1340, where in a sketch from a stained glass window, Great East Window, in east wing of Gloucester Cathedral, England, scenes of Battle of Crecy in France showed a man apparently preparing to strike a ball in a golf-like manner. One of early forms of golf were all missing one important ingredient to their games to truly make game golf and that was hole. Scotland is widely believed to be first country to put all ingredients together and actually start a primitive form of great game of golf. Yes, this will always be a disputed point, who actually invented game of golf. If you believe some of claims that game they were playing was golf and they didn’t have a hole, then you could take this same game and turn it into origin of many games we still play today. I believe hole is what separates all early claims to who originated game of golf.
