Art Deco and Its Enduring PopularityWritten by Rosana Hart

Some design elements were stepped forms, rounded corners, triple-striped decorative elements, vivid colors, and black decoration. The overall format had a clean simplicity to it. For book and poster printing, type faces such as Futura and Broadway were simple and geometrical. In poster art, sense of sophistication and suave elegance are often strong elements, as is sensuality. Art deco posters, printed using our modern techniques, are still widely used for decorating today. Art deco posters go well with virtually any style of furnishings, as they themselves draw on so many different things and there is such a wide variety available.

| | Dragons: A Very Short HistoryWritten by Rosana Hart
Continued from page 1
There have been many different types of dragons and they have been reported to live in center of word, middle of ocean, in caves and other dark and damp places, and in fire. At time of Christopher Columbus, when world was flat (or at least people thought so), maps said "Here Be Dragons" at edge of world. It may be that dragon stories partly grew out of people finding dinosaur bones. Since concept of dinosaurs didn't come into science until 1800s, any large fossilized bone found before then had to from a dragon, a giant, or in some parts of world, an elephant. Whatever actual origins of dragon tales may be, dragons are immensely popular now. They turn up in video games, films, books, and other art forms. There are many dragon posters. Dragons have become powerful symbols of forces that exist in our world, and of complexities of human spirit.
