When you do find one that you want to investigate further look for a couple of major items on their site. If you can't find out who owns site and/or an email address to contact them with, don't waste your time or money. Even if you do decide to join, you will probably be left to flounder on your own. You need to know that someone is going to be there to help you when you have a question or a problem.

Can you figure out what product or service they are recommending and can you get enough information about it so you understand it? No! Next!

Look at commission schedule. If it doesn't pay on more than one level and pay at least 20%, don't waste your time.

If you have made it through all these tests and you are still interested, don't stop yet. If you have any questions - no matter how stupid you may feel they are - email owner and ask. The only stupid question is one that didn't get asked.

In summary: Be absolutely sure that this sounds like something that you think you can do and want to get involved with. Don't just join things helter-skelter. Be sure that you understand what you're getting involved with completely before joining.
