Ancient Writers Reveal Penalty of Eternal Death

The dream of men in past ages was that there might be some way to obtain immortality. Some philosophers dreamed that man had an immortal soul. But they did not know God, nor His Word. Only One has had immortality so far. That isrepparttar Lord Jesus Christ: 1 Timothy 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling inrepparttar 126506 light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

That which is immortal cannot die. It is not subject to death. It is man's desire. Can it be obtained by mortal man? Dorepparttar 126507 Scriptures hold out any hope that man could ever become immortal? Yes. But this obtaining of immortality is only on God's terms, not by any philosophies or ofrepparttar 126508 heathen or any creeds. It is only reasonable that one must partake ofrepparttar 126509 divine nature in order to have a resurrection and immortality. The idea that Achilles should be mortal in his heel showsrepparttar 126510 foolishness ofrepparttar 126511 heathen mind. True immortality has been brought to light only byrepparttar 126512 gospel. It is incorruption. 2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest byrepparttar 126513 appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light throughrepparttar 126514 gospel:

The traditions of men and their religious institutions tell us that immortality is put on at death. But that is contrary to Scripture. There we are told thatrepparttar 126515 dead shall be raised incorruptible. Then is when this mortality puts on immortality and this corruption puts on incorruption, and not some time before. 1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, inrepparttar 126516 twinkling of an eye, atrepparttar 126517 last trump: forrepparttar 126518 trumpet shall sound, andrepparttar 126519 dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to passrepparttar 126520 saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Sorepparttar 126521 early writers knew The Truth and taught what Jesus Christ andrepparttar 126522 apostles taught, shouldn't we? Romans 6:23 Forrepparttar 126523 wages of sin is death; butrepparttar 126524 gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Old World Perishes In Flood

God says he did not createrepparttar heaven andrepparttar 126505 earth in vain but formed them to be inhabited yet in Genesis chapter 1 verse 2 God tells usrepparttar 126506 earth was without form and void. These words inrepparttar 126507 Hebrew language are tohu and bahu and are always translated nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness, ruin, emptiness, void. In Isaiah 45:18 these words are translated vain and we see that God did not create in vain He created withrepparttar 126508 design for them to be inhabited. If He did not createrepparttar 126509 heaven and earth in vain but formed them to be inhabited thenrepparttar 126510 word was is a bad translation when used in Genesis 1:2. The word translated was in Genesis 1:2 isrepparttar 126511 Hebrew word hayah and means became which would berepparttar 126512 correct translation. Sorepparttar 126513 world was not without form and void or in vain waste it became that way and then God set out to re-establish it. In allrepparttar 126514 following versesrepparttar 126515 Bible does not say God created (bara)but that He said (amar) or commanded and it was so and it was good. The reason for this is because things needed to be brought back together and their components were already in existence having been created earlier they were now in disarray or chaos and so God set about to re-establish them which took six days. From this work He rested onrepparttar 126516 seventh. We have another reference to this inrepparttar 126517 New Testament its in 2 Peter:

2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that byrepparttar 126518 word of Godrepparttar 126519 heavens were of old, andrepparttar 126520 earth standing out ofrepparttar 126521 water and inrepparttar 126522 water: 2 Peter 3:6 Wherebyrepparttar 126523 world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 2 Peter 3:7 Butrepparttar 126524 heavens andrepparttar 126525 earth, which are now, byrepparttar 126526 same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire againstrepparttar 126527 day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Some will say this is talking aboutrepparttar 126528 flood but that is not whatrepparttar 126529 Word of God says forrepparttar 126530 world then did not perish butrepparttar 126531 waters receded. Ifrepparttar 126532 truth of God’s Word was taught in our schools today than all would fit, science and Scripture, for dinosaur bones, ancient geology and astrophysics all which sayrepparttar 126533 world is billions of years old would agree in perfect harmony as they must withrepparttar 126534 wonderful Word of God.
