Adding a Bird Feeder to your GardenWritten by Johann Erickson

Of course, one of most delightful birds you can attract through type of flowers you plant, as well as extra feeders, is hummingbird. These tiny, and exquisitely colored birds, will dash and flit around your garden, adding to brightness and activity in your yard. Hummingbird feeders are generally made of plastic, to avoid breakage possible with glass. Since they feed on natural nectar of flowers, what you put in humming bird feeders is not seed, but a solution that you can buy powdered, or make yourself. It’s as simple as boiling 1 cup of water, and ¼ cup of sugar. You can make larger batches and store it in fridge, because feeders will need changing every few days to avoid fermentation and spoilage of solution. Wash in a solution of dish soap and 10% bleach, and rinse completely before refilling. One tip to help avoid spoilage, is to hang your humming bird feeders out of direct sunlight.
Whichever type of bird feeders you choose to brighten up yard or garden, you’ll reap rewards with hours of entertainment.

These larger, display gardens are perfect place to put focal decorations such as birdbaths, or sundials. In a smaller garden, one bird bath would be sufficient, but in a long strip garden, one near each end, with perhaps a sun dial in center, will make an outstanding display.
Gardens that are closer to house, and which are seen from windows, are usually where people choose to add those extra special touches. An herb garden that gives off delightful scents in summer, is made more charming with flat garden stones placed at intervals. These come with pictures, mottos, quotations and even Bible verses.
Another highly popular item to tuck in amongst blossoms, are decorative figurines. The durable construction in long-lasting vinyl or alabastrite, offers years of enjoyment from squirrels, rabbits, fairies, and always amusing, gnomes.
You can also extend your outside décor from house to garden, by matching garden flags to design of flags you have mounted in brackets on your home. These come in seasonal and holiday designs, and can be part of an overall theme that would include things like a lady bug house flag, garden flags, garden stones, and key hider!
Imagination is only key you’ll need to designing a garden that will enhance your property and be a pleasure to work in. When you’re done, make time to sit back and enjoy what you’ve created.
