The word 'cistern' in
Strong's Greek and Hebrew dictionaries means container.
It does sound like it can take a lot of work to make one cistern though! The chopping or hacking away at it to make it smooth doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun.
Yes, it takes work but in
very next sentence God tells us that
cisterns are broken! The containers can't hold any water!
Obviously we want and need water! God provides
best for His kids.
Knowing this, why would anyone attempt to create their own ways of making themselves content and happy? The religions,
diets, and even
schedules operate to help someone. If we are going to help ourselves, shouldn't we go to
living water?
Just Remember... It's when we sit in
flow of living water that we get to be filled with
love, joy, and peace of Father God!
