Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and
glory of
Lord is risen upon thee. And
Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to
brightness of thy rising. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for
Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and
days of thy mourning shall be ended.
Thus saith
Lord, which giveth
sun for a light by day, and
ordinances of
moon and of
stars for a light by night, which divideth
sea when
waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name: He revealeth
deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in
darkness, and
light dwelleth with him.
There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is
spirit of
holy gods; and in
days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like
wisdom of
gods, was found in him; whom
king Nebuchadnezzar thy father,
king, I say, thy father, made master of
magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers. I have even heard of thee, that
spirit of
gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee. And his brightness was as
light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was
hiding of his power.
The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in
region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
Ye are
light of
world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in
house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in
ear, that preach ye upon
housetops. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as
sun, and his raiment was white as
light. To give light to them that sit in darkness and in
shadow of death, to guide our feet into
way of peace. A light to lighten
Gentiles, and
glory of thy people Israel.
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see
light.
In him was life; and
life was
light of men. And
light shineth in darkness; and
darkness comprehended it not.
That was
true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into
world.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am
light of
world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have
light of life. To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from
power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
For God, who commanded
light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give
light of
knowledge of
glory of God in
face of Jesus Christ.
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in
Lord: walk as children of light: Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from
dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
Giving thanks unto
Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of
inheritance of
saints in light: Ye are all
children of light, and
children of
day: we are not of
night, nor of darkness.
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in
light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. But is now made manifest by
appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through
gospel. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth
praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until
day dawn, and
day star arise in your hearts.
This then is
message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. But if we walk in
light, as he is in
light, we have fellowship one with another, and
blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Glimpses of God © by Joyce C. Lock http://our.homewithgod.com/heavenlyinspirations/ This writing may be used in its entirety, with credits in tact, for non-profit ministering purposes.
