Newsletter

It is very important that you have a newsletter (or mailing list). Newsletters work wonders for sites that use them well. Give an incentive and a reason for someone to join your newsletter. People are not willing to just hand you over their email address with no idea what they will be getting for it. The newsletter should always carry relevant, useful content, nut just advertising. As long as it is useful, people will love it and pass it on to several friends. Again, remember to actively ask them to pass it on - you get what you ask for. If you don't ask them to pass it on, even if they are willing to, they may just forget or not even thing about it. To start one, all you need is a mailing list server. You can get a free one from www.listbot.com or www.egroups.com or use a commercial one you pay for such as www.sparklist.com.

Free Email

Be another Hotmail. Give away free email accounts. Every time someone sends email from them, a small signature goes out to their recipient with your URL and short description in it, just like Hotmail does. And whenever they check their email they have to visit your site. You can quickly set up for free as a free email provider at www.everyone.net.

News And Articles

Your site should always have relevant and ever-new content. One way of achieving this instantly is to sign up free for iSyndicate's (www.isyndicate.com) or Moreover's (www.moreover.com) services that push related news and articles to your site. Give your visitors a reason to keep coming back to your site by providing fresh relevant content.

Link Away

Provide easy ways for other sites to link to you. Have a page that showcases a variety of different banners and other links that webmasters can place to your site. Giverepparttar ready-to-paste HTML for each of those links to make it easy for webmasters to copy and paste it to your site. Get an affiliate program so you can pay for performance. Do all you can do to make it easy, profitable and interesting for people to tell others about you.

Recommend This Site

Other than an email-this-page and an affiliate program, one more thing you can do to get people to tell others about you is to add a recommend-this-site button. Well, most people will never click on it unless there is something in it for them. So offer them something free in exchange or a chance to win a big prize. You can sign up free with Recommend-It (www.recommend-it.com) and they will give you a neat button that tells your users to recommend your site in exchange for a chance to win $10,000 - and they supplyrepparttar 121976 prize money! These are some ofrepparttar 121977 tools and principles that created and continue to create businesses that thrive inrepparttar 121978 new economy. you can implement all of them on your site in a day if you put your mind to it, and for very little if any, money. The benefits will be immense if you do it right. More than anything else, stickiness and a viral nature arerepparttar 121979 most important elements of marketing online businesses, arguably even more than branding and advertising. For if you spend millions on branding and advertising a site that is not sticky or viral, your eventual average customer acquisition costs will not only be too high to be profitable, but you will be losing all your visitors and hardly making a sale to them duringrepparttar 121980 short period of time when they are on your site. So start now, making a sticky and viral cocktail for your site.

Make an Impact - Make a Difference!

Another great way to make an impact is with customer service. Let's face it, most ofrepparttar online population is still hesitant to spend their hard earned money online. And who can blame them with allrepparttar 121975 scam artists and hucksters hanging their crooked shingles in cyberspace? Evenrepparttar 121976 big brand websites are taking heat for poor customer service.

Here's an example of someone who didn't like my book i.e.: an unhappy customer. First though, my guarantee states "If you are not completely satisfied with what my product does for you after trying my Ultimate Marketing Method, I won't give you 100% of your money back. Show me you've tried The Ezine Marketing Machine and I'll give you 110%"

Now, this purchaser never tried anything inrepparttar 121977 book. Just stated he *thought*repparttar 121978 methods wouldn't work (wrong:-) almost right away. I am too familiar now withrepparttar 121979 buy now/request a refund a half an hour later scammers (like, at least don't make it so obvious:-) but this person I didn't feel was one of them. So, without hesitation, I rebated his credit card. This is what he wrote back:

"After doing business onrepparttar 121980 Internet for some time now, I must say that although I didn't seerepparttar 121981 benefit in your product, I do appreciate repparttar 121982 level of customer service that you gave me. You refunded my money, within 24 hours of my request, no questions asked. It is nice to know that you are running a first class business. I wish you continued success."

Now, I'm quite sure that a person who was impacted enough to write repparttar 121983 above to me has told all his online contacts about his experience with Rick Beneteau. Word-of-mouth onrepparttar 121984 Web will always berepparttar 121985 strongest form of advertising!

Last example, and another odd one, but please bear with me. I received an email a few weeks ago from a reseller. She had forwarded an email she received from someone who offered her $10.00 to buy The Ezine Marketing Machine (my reseller had paidrepparttar 121986 retail price of $29.95). He was so bold as to tell her that if she didn't take him up on his offer all he had to do was change repparttar 121987 ID# onrepparttar 121988 URL and someone else would buy it.

My immediate human reaction was anger. I mean, this "sleaze ball" was canvassing my resellers to steal my work and undercut me! Well, I had no choice but to immediately send a curt "Cease & Desist" notice and threaten "swift and immediate legal action" if he contacted anyone else in my organization.

I really didn't expect a reply but a few hours later camerepparttar 121989 "real story". Here was a young man, full of apology, trying to "figure out repparttar 121990 Internet". I replied that if he had only been "honest" with me upfront instead of trying underhanded tactics he would have received a no-obligation free copy of my book. Which wasrepparttar 121991 truth. He received that copy and I know one thing for sure - this young entrepreneur hadrepparttar 121992 opportunity to learn a valuable lesson and it's my gut feeling he did.

Bottom line: every time you make an impact, you make a difference. Make a difference to your customers and you will make a difference to your bottom line. I guarantee it!
