So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by
word of God. But now is made manifest, and by
scriptures of
prophets, according to
commandment of
everlasting God, made known to all nations for
obedience of faith: That your faith should not stand in
wisdom of men, but in
power of God.
Know ye therefore that they which are of faith,
same are
children of Abraham. And
scripture, foreseeing that God would justify
heathen through faith, preached before
gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. That
blessing of Abraham might come on
Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive
promise of
Spirit through faith.
But
scripture hath concluded all under sin, that
promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
One Lord, one faith, one baptism ... Till we all come in
unity of
faith, and of
knowledge of
Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto
measure of
stature of
fullness of Christ.
This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in
faith.
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast
profession of our faith without wavering, (for he is faithful that promised).
Through faith we understand that
worlds were framed by
word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. For as
body without
spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
The prayer of faith shall save
sick, and
Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Who are kept by
power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in
last time. That
trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at
appearing of Jesus Christ: Receiving
end of your faith, even
salvation of your souls. Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from
dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh
world: and this is
victory that overcometh
world, even our faith ... building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in
Holy Ghost.
Here is
patience of
saints: here are they that keep
commandments of God, and
faith of Jesus. Glimpses of God © by Joyce C. Lock http://our.homewithgod.com/heavenlyinspirations/ This writing may be used in its entirety, with credits in tact, for non-profit ministering purposes.
