Here is another tip: Never buy a house or a car (NEW OR USED) without a clause that says PREPAYMENT WITHOUT PENALTY, OR equivalent of that phrase. WHY? You can save thousands of dollars by paying extra money on principal each month. If your contract has clause I just mentioned, you can do this. WHY DO YOU WANT TO DO THIS? To save yourself thousands of dollars!! You pay interest on unpaid balance of what you owe each month on car or house that you and bank own and that you are making payments on. For example, I paid off my new truck (did I mention it has 4 wheel drive and a whole bunch of extras - a 3/4 ton etc. etc - for camper) in a little over a year by paying $1000 a month extra on principal. That is pretty stiff but my wife also teaches and we lived off of my salary. YES IT CAN BE DONE!

HOW DO I DO IT? I save on ALL little things that do not matter - necessities of life, in order to buy big things - like my truck!! I still have more ideas for a later time. Remember, a lifetime of saving money as a philosophy!

7. Create a list of business supplies or equipment you'll need in future. Purchase supplies only when they go on sale.

8. Buy used business equipment and supplies. You can find used items at garage sales, yard sales, used stores, classified ads, message boards, etc.

9. Try to negotiate a lower price for business supplies, services or equipment. Don't be afraid to try, you'll be surprised how many businesses give in.

10. Always be searching for new suppliers for your business supplies, services and equipment. Look for suppliers with lower prices and better quality.
