The word 'GREAT' also works on your subconscious.

When someone asks how you feel and you respond, 'Great!', you are actually talking to your subconscious. It listens. It believes.

Tell it enough times that you feel 'Great!' and it will do everything in it's considerable power to bring that feeling into reality. Of course if you go away mumbling to yourself that actually you feel pretty lousy, your subconscious will also listen to that and cancel any 'Great!' feelings it might have been working on.

True story. Some good old boys decided to play a joke on one of their number. They stationed themselves at various places alongrepparttar accustomed morning route of their victim and individually greeted him with something like, "Hey Ted, you look terrible. You should be home in bed."

Ted laughed offrepparttar 123806 first two encounters. But afterrepparttar 123807 fifth greeting, he headed home. He spentrepparttar 123808 next week betweenrepparttar 123809 sheets being terribly, ridiculously but very physically ill.

It comes down to this. Ifrepparttar 123810 mind can make you sick it can also make you well.

Don't take my word for it...try it.

Start outrepparttar 123811 day determined to respond to every "How ya doin'?" greeting withrepparttar 123812 tonic word, 'Great!' Refuse to get dragged into any recital of aches and pains...particularly yours.

Stiffen your back, keep your chin up and floatrepparttar 123813 word 'Great!' onrepparttar 123814 tip of your tongue. Even if you startrepparttar 123815 day feeling lousy, chances are you'll endrepparttar 123816 day feeling a whole lot better. Keep it up and that 'Great!' feeling will become a way of life for you. Not bad for one little word.

Life has a way of giving subtle hints, gentle nudges, and downright shoves, ifrepparttar circumstances call for it.

Humans have only begun to tap intorepparttar 123805 power they have - namely, their minds. If only we could harness more ofrepparttar 123806 mental energies, and abilities, cures and solutions would be found, but it is also guaranteed that for every solution found, a new challenge is just rearing its head.

When we become friends with life, become comfortable with all its quirks, then we find true peace as well as a renewed energy to achieve and reach whatever goals we set.

In everyday life there should be time to work, and time to dream. There needs to be a balance between outweard actions and inside nurturing of self. The old saying, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy," carries with it a lot of wisdom. To dream is to be - it isrepparttar 123807 time we give our mind, our hears, and our soulsrepparttar 123808 R and R it needs to revitalize, repair, and reach out.

If life right now is giving you back some bad vibes and throwing inrepparttar 123809 towel seemsrepparttar 123810 only way out - then, my friend, readh for any history or science book within your immediate grasp. The world did not evolve intorepparttar 123811 wonder it is today nor have previous generations gonerepparttar 123812 way ofrepparttar 123813 dinosaurs, but instead they have left legacies of knowledge, expertise, and experience. Throwing inrepparttar 123814 towel is forrepparttar 123815 birds - but I've yet to see one actually do it - have you?

The world is definitely your field of glory, and mine, and your neighbors, and so forth. We arerepparttar 123816 players, andrepparttar 123817 goal posts are there. All we have to do is use our minds and figurerepparttar 123818 best way to get from here to there, in spite ofrepparttar 123819 opposition breathing down our necks ready to tackle our every move.

We can do it - if only we set our mind to it. ENJOY! ©Arleen M. Kaptur 2002 September
