3.Eliminate drains A drain is anything that wastes your time, drains your energy, and has some negativity around it. It could be circumstances, habits, things or people. Drains have an opportunity cost. When you focus on a drain, you don’t have time to create, respond to opportunities (or even notice them), or do what you really want. You miss out on other opportunities which might be more fun, lucrative, creative or significant. 4. Uncover your job values Your values are behavior and activities to which you are naturally drawn. When engaged in these activities, you feel most like yourself: connected, excited, glowing. Your life has a feeling of effortlessness. Most of us lead lives which do not grant us chance to feel this way. If you take time to identify your values, you will be more aware of why there are conflicts between you and your job and be more able to identify needs you have sacrificed. 5. Define success for yourself Until you take time to define success for yourself, it will be defined by others (your boss, your parents, your partner), your culture, past, or advertising. One way to define success for yourself is to complete sentence, “I know I am being successful by . . .”

Rich imagery is made up of qualities in your pictures, feelings and sounds. These qualities combine in different ways to enhance your images. Here is a quick sampling of these qualities, referred to as submodalities in Neurolinguistic Programming Submodalities for picture would be brightness, contrast and shade. Submodalities for feeling would be texture, temperature, hardness and softness. And submodalities for sound would be volume, rhythm, timbre and tone These submodalities make imagery you choose to use, more effective. And you can adjust them as you want, to create a more richer experience. In goal setting, imagery is used to precreate achieved goal in your mind. Just like a dress rehearsal. If you can see it, you can have it! To make most of imagery - be aware of sounds, pictures, and feelings - make them as clear and as vivid as possible - add and adjust submodalities according to your preferences. The richer better. - immerse yourself in experience d. Perspective The world you live in is a system. One thing that you are doing right now has far reaching implications than you may be aware of. And on top of that, you are being affected by a myriad of influences you may not be aware of. What does this have to do with goal setting? While you are going for your goal, concentrating intensely (I hope), maintaining right emotional balance, and using imagery effectively, keep checking how your world is changing and how you are moving towards future you are attempting to create. It will be a disaster to try to do one good thing (setting your goals properly), only to spoil your efforts by pretending to be living in a vacuum. There you have it folks, now you know prerequisite qualities for optimum success in goal getting. Now, before you expend any effort in chasing your passion and goal, do a quick check to see if you mentally have what it takes to get there.
