5) What Are You Naturally Good At?

To answer this question, you MUST ask your friends, not yourself. Whatever you already know about yourself is not going to help. Only things you never knew you were good at are going to open doors to your own home based business. So go ahead, call 10 of your best friends, and ask them "What do think I'm good at?"

Make a mental note, or write all their opinions down on your piece of paper. The key to getting this right is to NEVER question or argue about their opinion of you. Take good with bad, take it all. By time you're done with number 10, I guarantee you'll start discovering things about you that you never knew you were good at.

I found out that I'm good at teaching. I also found out that I can explain things in a simple way, and that I have patience when dealing with others. Trust me, I never knew that before I asked. It's amazing what others know about you that you don't know yourself.

The Road Becomes Clearer

When you're done with your list of all things you love, all things you've become an expert at, and all things you found out you're naturally good at, have a good look at it. Does your dream home business seem a little more clear now? Do you see begiining of an exciting journey, instead of an intimidating one?

You now have many ideas on what type of home based business you can do, and all you have to do is choose. Choose one that you're most excited about RIGHT NOW and are eager to start RIGHT NOW.

If you rushed through this article without pen and paper, without taking notes and asking yourself these questions, then let me tell you truth:

It takes YEARS to build a steady five or six figure income from your own home based business. You can't do it in months, no matter what anyone else out there may say. The only way you're going to get through initial "make-or-break" years is if you're doing something close to your heart. Something that will seem like fun, not hard work.

Seek truth, for truth shall set you free, and show you where you want to go. If you don't know where you want to go, it's no secret that you'll never get there.

5. Write Your Resource Box Many authors struggle with this part, but there really is no need.

The resource box goes right at end of your article, and provides some information about author. Think about reader of article - they want to know more about who wrote article.

I include a bit of information about myself, and provide a link to one of my web sites that has some relevance to article. Ideally a resource box should be brief and contain just two or three sentences. For an example, see resource box at end of this article.

Some authors attempt to cram resource box with more than one link. Rather than achieving more promotional power from their article, it actually has reverse effect by turning off publisher, who may have otherwise published your article, and confusing reader.

6. Leave It Alone In my experience, this is most essential stage. I save my article and leave it completely alone for at least a couple of days. So many people are impatient and do not do this, but I find it to be essential in boosting my chances of publication.

The idea is that you come back to it with completely fresh, but critical, eyes. This works like magic for helping to transform a fairly mediocre article with low chances of publication, to a high quality article that is more likely to get picked up by a large number of publishers and reward you with a flood of publicity.

7. The Final Edit I open up my article again and read it. I usually spot parts of my article that do not flow very well, paragraphs that can be improved or condensed, sentences with words missing, and typos. This is where I polish up my article and ensure it all flows really well.

I have seen many articles that have obviously never gone through this stage, and they will only have a very slim chance of publication. Some minor editing would have improved them immensely. It really is worth that extra bit of effort to get your article up to scratch, otherwise all your hard work in writing article will be wasted.
