6. Online/Offline Auctions You can find lower prices on business supplies and equipment at online and offline auctions. I'm not saying all time, but before you go pay retail for these items try bidding on them first.

7. Plan Ahead Make a list of business supplies or equipment you'll need in future. Keep an eye out for stores that have big sales. Purchase supplies when they go on sale before you need them.

8. Used Stuff If your business equipment and supplies don't need to be new, buy them used. You can find used items at yard and garage sales, used stores, used stuff for sale message boards and newsgroups etc.

9. Negotiate You should always try negotiate a lower price for any business equipment or supplies. It doesn't hurt to try. Pretend you are talking to a salesman at a car lot.

10. Search You can always be searching for new suppliers for your business supplies and equipment. Look for suppliers with lower prices and better quality. Don't just be satisfied with a few.

Either way, chances of failing far out weigh chances of success. Most will not make it their first, second or third time, but if they stick with it and learn from their mistakes they will.

Reasons for failure: The first reason they will not make it is because they will blame everyone but themselves when things do not go right or happen as fast as they think it should. The second reason is they do not spend time or effort into working their business.

The third reason is they do not take time to 'learn trade' before they jump into first opportunity they come across. They don't know their products well enough to answer questions nor how to train others to duplicate their success. Those are facts.

The solutions: Treat your on line business as a real business. File a business statement in your local newspaper and get required permits from your local area, if one is required. This will often open your business venture up for loans and help from SBA. Report income to correct agencies, or even lack of income to them for tax reasons. You will be able to deduct your home business expenses from your taxes, if allowed ( but always follow advice of your tax person in this matter). Believe in yourself and your product. Know products benefits inside and out. Get trained by your partnership alliance contact, owner, etc. Get business cards, make brochures and give them away to everyone you meet or know. Stay informed and become aware of how things work.

Internet business:

Understand what internet is and how it works, what it can and can not do for you. Keep things in perspective at all times, and do not believe all hype or gossip you may hear or read about on internet.
